The clocks go back at the end of October here in the UK. Does your country do the same?

They do. In the U.S. the clocks will fall back in November. I’m not a fan, though it’s easier now that I don’t have school aged children to wrangle or dogs to help transition through. Still, I wish we could agree to split the difference and keep a time schedule year round.

Do you enjoy Halloween?

Nope. One of my least favorite holidays, really. Now that I don’t have to fake it as the grownup in a classroom it’s a little better but after the first 30 minutes of oohing and aahing over trick or treaters I’m done with the whole thing. This attitude makes me feel pretty bah humbug but so it goes.

Dare I ask if you are preparing for Christmas? If you do not celebrate it in your country, do you have any December traditions?

I am most decidedly not. I spend most of October pretending it isn’t on its way then struggle to balance preparing for Thanksgiving with the impending Christmas countdown. Every year I want to do better, every year I hit panic mode right before Thanksgiving.

Are you likely to have snow anytime soon?

Excuse me while I clean up the water I just spit across the room.

That would be a hell no. Monday/Tuesday this week have high temps in the 80s, Wednesday in the 70s, and Thursday/Friday/Saturday in the upper 60s. Our area of North Carolina doesn’t really have a shot at snow until December and it’s a long shot at that. We’re more likely to see snow in January or February so we’ve got a ways to go yet.

Gratitude:

A beautiful full moon, plush travel pillows, capris weather, and a sweet stint kitty sitting an adorable kitten. All the snuggles and hunting games.
