Are you busy making preparations for Dec 25th?
I don’t know if busy is the word I’d use. I’d say I’m in my December 1 pivot where I fully internalize holy hell, Thanksgiving is done and we’re into the sprint toward Christmas. We did manage to assemble our tree but that’s about it. I expect any day now I’ll hit slightly panicked mode.
What is your favourite Christmas/holiday movie?
Miracle on 34th Street (1994 version), The Family Stone, The Santa Clause, and While You Were Sleeping all make my top ten list.
What is your pet hate Christmas song?
John McNicholl’s Christmas Shoes.
Which actor in your opinion made the best Father Christmas?
Miracle on 34th Street is one of my favorites and Richard Attenborough was a spectacular Santa in that.
Gratitude:
Friends who laugh along with my random text stories, a more reasonably sized Christmas tree, warm socks, and the completion of three very hectic days without an injury requiring urgent medical care.

Absolutely adore Miracle, always watch it on Christmas Day.

That’s one I haven’t seen. Maybe I’ll look for it this year.

I hope there is plenty of joy in the sprint toward Christmas for you! There are parts I enjoy, and parts I could definitely do without. The crowds and hyper consumption I could do without. The family and friends gathering, I enjoy those.
My favorite Christmas movie is It’s a Wonderful Life. Also love Scrooged.

My brother *loves* It’s a Wonderful Life, he watches it every year. I don’t think I’ve seen it in its entirety in a while.
I’ve been on a bit of a rampage the last five years stomping Christmas into submission. (Doesn’t that sound delightful?😂) Cutting back on the hoopla, zeroing in on the important stuff. Both sides of the family moved away from gift exchanges (except for the littlest people) and consider the time we gather to be our present. I still get stressed some but it’s better than it used to be.

Snap on #2 and #4 Laura. Thanks for joining in. While you were Sleeping was also a good movie. Sandra Bullock has been in some good movies: The Blind Side, Premonition, Practical Magic, The Lake House. IMO. She was a bit irritating in Demolition Man though, but I beileve that was her first role.

I was about to write I haven’t seen her in a bad movie yet when I hit your last sentence, then I realized I haven’t seen Demolition Man. So I guess that means the sentiment stands. 😂

Stallone and Snipes played it for laughs I think.

I so agree with you on Miracle on 34st Street best Santa. I also love the movie.

He was SUCH a great Santa! And there’s so much to love — the quirky little girl, the courtroom scenes, the adults who fall under his spell too.
Now I’m gonna have to search it out. 😊

Yep yep! I had a pretty significant cut on Thanksgiving night but it would have taken a true catastrophe to send me to a doctor on that holiday. 🤣 Grateful I could handle it at home.
My December movies tend to be lighthearted fare. That Miracle on 34th Street is the most tug-on-the-heartstrings one but even it has enough humor sprinkled throughout.
