What time did you get up this morning?
I woke up at 7:45am. I pulled it together and got out of bed by 8am.
What are your plans for today?
Today’s a work/catch up day. I changed the sheets, put away the clean clothes that have been living in my basket for a good while now, and started the laundry. At some point I’m going to tackle that mysterious stain on the sofa then if I’ve got the spoons I’ll start going through closets. I didn’t sleep great last night so I don’t have high hopes for how far I’ll get on those closets.
Has 2026 been a good/better year for you so far?
With so many terrible things happening I find it impossible to say 2026 is good/better. We’re blessed in many ways — our health and the health of our loved ones is good, our young adults are young adulting, and we have room to breathe — but I’m watching people be beaten in the street while others are snatched up and warehoused or disappeared altogether. This year is not better.
What is on your meal menu for today?
I started off with coffee and a peanut butter KIND bar. Lunch will probably be light nibbles or (don’t judge me) cereal. Dinner has been complicated — my right hand is still limited in range of movement/strength and that makes prep work difficult so we’ve kind of been winging it on dinner.
Gratitude:
Pink kitty toe beans, a slow but steady wrist improvement, and excellent progress in cleaning out and storing things in our house.

hope the wrist heals fully asap. One day, hopefully in 2026, weeks can stop saying the name Trump or Vance and move on to a wonderful loving year.

This is a lovely thought. I can’t imagine us getting that sort of break here but I’d love for people in other countries to have a break from the constant nonsense we’re causing.

That it is, beth. As long as we’re headed in the right direction I’m gonna be grateful for it.

Thanks for joining in Laura. Good gratitude. My hands were painful this morning so lunch was ginger and pineapple chicken as it has minimum preparation. Glad the wrist is improving.

Thank you. I’m grateful for the progress. A few more weeks on range of motion and we’ll add in some strength building. Ginger and pineapple chicken sounds delicious!
