Well, seeing as I’m 100% geographically deficient there’s absolutely no way I’ll be pulling Czech into the stream of consciousness mix unless it goes something like hey, guys, I have absolutely no chance of identifying the Czech Republic on a blank map, how ’bout you?
Moving on.
You know what I’m 100% good at? Checking stuff. Checking off lists, checking that we’ve locked the door, checking on that weird noise in the kitchen. I’m a “check the cake to see if it’s done” pro with a killer “check that attitude, kid” delivery. Check check checkity check check.
I honestly can’t understand how people function without a checklist. I mean how do they even know what needs to get done in the day? In the week? Or the stuff that was supposed to get done Monday that ends up pushed to Thursday or Friday before you finally finish and check it off? My life runs on coffee and checklists.
Linda hosts Stream of Consciousness Saturday. This week’s prompt is “check/cheque/Czech.” Use one, use ’em all, use ’em any way you’d like. Have fun!
I make a checklist for, shopping, packing and big occasions but not weekly or daily so I am probably not as organised as you are 💜💜

Good gracious, I have no idea how anyone would even do their shopping without a list! Packing, too. That’s the only way I don’t end up tracking down a store on the other end to buy random stuff.

Now that I’m retired, I don’t have as many checklists. But the older I get, the more I think I might need them again. I do have a couple of sticky notes floating around.

Sticky notes are the best. So satisfying to cross stuff off then crumple the whole thing up and toss it in the trash!

I never used checklists. It was easier for me to remember what I had to do than to keep a list.

Oh gracious, not me. Stuff drops right out of my brain like a sieve — I’d spend all my time trying to remember what I’d forgotten. 😆

I like checklists but I always can’t find them. Need a checklist to find the checklist

True that. I keep one on my phone since it would be catastrophic to lose that thing.

I keep a list. I’m so sick of rewriting the same list over and over. No one checks it.

Nothing irritates me quite like people who won’t cooperate in keeping a list. Ugh.

I have a whiteboard on my refrigerator which I use to remind myself to do things – my checklist. Because if I don’t write it down where I can see it, I’ll forget it.

Yes indeed — the seeing it part is critical. I have a calendar app (one we used to use for our family calendar) that I keep solely for my personal To Do notes. I have a call I’ve been putting off for days now…but at least I see it there.

I’m bad at lists and so often miss a few things that needed doing.

Sometimes I’ll forget to add an item, too — then I spend the next hour trying to sort out that persistent “what have I missed?” feeling.

Hi Laura, I also use checklists and am always checking things. Way to go.

We’re staying on track anyway.

You’re obviously missing the popular point, Laura. If it’s on a checklist and you don’t do it, it’s a problem. If it’s not on a list and you don’t do it, pffft. Don’t write it down and there’s nothing to do – enjoy the weekend 🙂

Damn, Dan, I’m almost 50 and never once thought of this system. 😆

‘my life runs on coffee and checklists.’ classic phrase that you could make into a t-shirt.
