What is your favorite comfort snack food?
warm tortilla chips topped with tons of melted shredded cheese; sour cream and salsa on the side
Is the paper money in your possession right now organized sequentially according to denomination and with bills right side up and facing the same way?
Well, yeah. Isn’t everybody’s?
If you were a mouse in your house in the evening, what would you see your family doing?
We’re in summer mode right now so things are pretty lackadaisical around here. We eat a late dinner, and sometimes dinner is more of a “hey, whaddya feel like eating?” sort of thing. Which means we often end up with four different hodgepodge meals ranging from heavy snacks to an actual dinner. Then we hit down time. BrightSide and I crash in the family room, reading or blogging or watching Netflix. The kids play a game on their iPads or build a fort or kick a ball around outside.
School’s coming, though, so that mouse will have a whole new routine to check out next week.
Would you rather not be able to read or not be able to speak?
It’s hard to wrap my brain around this question, but I think I’d rather not be able to speak. I get so much enjoyment from reading – novels, blogs, news articles, magazines – and can’t imagine not having that in my life. Plus there’s that whole reading/writing connection thing. If I couldn’t read then how could I revise my work? Nope. Gotta keep the ability to read.
Bonus Question: What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?
Last week I was grateful for my hair appointment. I have a number of friends who are embracing their gray, but I can’t make myself do it yet. And there is a lot of gray on this head of mine. The week before my appointment I keep noticing how sad my roots are, then suddenly I visit my stylist and poof! The gray is gone. It may be shallow, but it makes me happy.
This week I’m looking forward to enjoying the last of our summer break. The last workout before school starts, last minute school clothes shopping, last summer movie outing, last days of lazing around and following our own schedule. When the kids bicker before bedtime I wonder how summer can feel this long, but otherwise? I’m soaking up every minute of not running full speed during the school year.

Cee’s Share Your World is a weekly feature. All are welcome to join in.
What’s going on in your world?
The ability to speak comes in very handy when you have young children. Haha. The fact that you would give it up means you must really love to read.

So true! I wonder if it’s possible to lecture in sign language? 😉

I was actually driving behind a mom once who would turn around every time she stopped for a red light and “yell” at her kids in sign language. It was the funniest thing!

I color my gray for now, too. My mother has gorgeous silver hair, but she has enough of it to look good. When I get to that point, I’ll let it go 🙂

You know, that’s been my perspective, too. I do wonder, though…if I’m coloring it, how will I know when there’s “enough” gray to look good??

Oh, I LOVE hostess donettes. For some unknown reason I ate hundreds of the chocolate ones in college. I eat them now and think the chocolate tastes a lot like plastic, but the white powdered ones? Mmmmm….

I have an OCD thing with facing my money and organizing it. I blame my father, he’s a banker lol

I’ve always organized my money but I didn’t get OCD about how the bills were facing until I met BrightSide. He was a bit horrified the first time he saw my wallet!
