1. A hummingbird actually showed up yesterday.
2. I think she’s been around. I’ve seen something small zooming around the backyard, occasionally buzzing by the windows.
3. But yesterday she rolled up to the kitchen window to perch on my feeder, happily sipping sugar water as I oohed and aahed from the family room.
4. She’s an itty bit and I hope she comes back again.
5. My mouth has gone from five alarm outbreak (hello, canker sores, my old friend) to marginally headed in the healing up direction.
6. I was able to eat dinner last night so that’s a win for me.
7. The kitties have been snuggly lately.
8. We’ve had a small dip in the weather. There are two days this week calling for a high of 72 degrees. SEVENTY-TWO.
9. This is unheard of in the muggy armpit of a North Carolina August.
10. The daughter is off for an exciting adventure this week. She’s living her best life.
living her best life sounds wonderful ❤️

It was the first big vacation she took without us. Whenever I got squirrelly I reminded myself they were with the other girl’s parents so *someone’s* mom was with her even if it wasn’t me. This process of letting go comes in fits and starts…

Thanks, Laura. I hear tell some people never experience a canker sore in their entire lives and I am flabbergasted. Great news for them, but I can’t relate. 😂

Hope those sores go away. Nothing worse.

They truly are the worst. I’ve turned the corner so a few more days and I should be doing great. Thank you.
