Welcome back to Dan’s photo challenge. You can read about Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge origin story here as well as find links to past and future topics.
This week’s prompt is still “this, that, or both” with the theme of Winter, Summer, or both. That first photo of icy trees is what we usually get around here for winter. The snow photos were from an unusual storm that led to lots of playing in the snow. I used two heron photos — the first one (soaring up in the trees) is a winter shot while the second was summertime in the channel at the lake. That last photo is of the beautiful Tunnels Beach in Hawaii.
Hope you all have a wonderful week!

I love how we go from winter to deep blue skies there, that’s hope

Terrific photos, Laura. The heron photos are lovely. We don’t get much snow (maybe every few years) and yours looks magical.

Thank you, John. That snow was unusual and such a joy for the kids. And I love seeing the herons at the lake!

I used to enjoy them on the Gulf as well.

Our temps barely touched 32 degrees F today, that beach is sounding mighty fine…

Snow is pretty, but I don’t like being cold. We get a little about once in the winter, and occasionally we’ll get a big one … but lots of times just icy trees and streets. I like your heron photos! 🙂

Thank you! I agree, I am not built for the bitter cold. I’m not built for horrible heat either…I guess some people may just think I’m difficult. 😂

I love the pictures of the heron in flight. I only have ones of them standing, waiting for an unsuspecting fish to swim by for breakfast.
I remember days of sledding and winter fun. As our daughter got older, we added to the sledding fun by taking my 4×4 pickup out “before the plows ruined everything.” That led to a few “don’t tell mom” moments.
The beach is beautiful. A sight we won’t see for a long time.

The flying heron photos bring back wonderful memories. It sure is something to see them take off — watching them fish is also pretty stunning!
And I think those “don’t tell mom” moments can make some of the best stories.

They are so patient.
Most of those stories have been shared with mom. One by accident, years later, but perhaps a little too soon.
