Have you ever owned a rock, pet rock, or gem that is not jewelry?
Oh wow, I remember those pet rock boxes! The problem is I don’t remember if it’s because they were so cool and I wished I had one like all my friends or if I actually had one. I will say I have a piece of rose quartz on my nightstand now and it is beautiful.
What is your greatest strength or weakness?
My greatest strength is insight. My greatest weakness is holding on to everything until it feels overwhelming. I’m working on letting things go more easily.
What makes you feel grounded?
Sometimes I can ground myself through my breathing. But if I need concrete help? I can do it by resting my hand on a napping dog, feeling her soft fur gently raise up and down with her breath.
Would you rather never be able to eat warm food or never be able to eat cold food?
I’m going with my knee-jerk response on this one…I’d rather give up the cold food. I adore warm food. Not just warm but hot food. There are few things quite as sad to my food soul as when my soup is merely warm and not piping hot. When I fix my plate first, so by the time everyone’s ready and we’ve said grace my food is meh. When I think I’ve reheated something only to bite into a still chilled piece of pizza. Ugh.
I realize this means I’d have to give up ice cream and chilled salad and a bevy of other dishes I love. That’s what made me stutter step on my answer in the first place, but in all honesty ice cream makes my teeth hurt now so I’m sticking with hot.
Bonus Question: What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?
I’m grateful for the time Bear and I spent with gem last week. It was wonderful and restorative and life changing. Plus there were awesome tacos.
This week I’m looking forward to T-man’s first soccer game and a couple more for Bear. I have so much fun watching them play this sport that I love.

Cee’s Share Your World prompt appears every week and is open to all.
What’s happening in your world?
I did the same when my girls were little. Seems we always had to eat cold food. Our microwave got a workout with all the reheating, too.

Oh yeah…there were about four or five years in there when I was always serving a little person or cutting up food or wiping spills. I missed hot food SO MUCH when these kids were babies/toddlers.

Dogs are wonderful! I like my food hot, too, unless, as you say, it’s supposed to be cold. Glad you’re a supportive to your family athletes.

Thanks, Patti! My dogs are a special source of comfort to me, even the big one when she’s causing trouble. 🙂
