Have you ever had a pet that was NOT a dog or a cat?
I have the faintest memory of a hamster. Mostly what I remember was bringing it home from the pet store in a cardboard box with holes in it and it bit me. To be fair I’m pretty sure I stuck my finger in one of the holes. I’m also fairly certain the poor thing didn’t survive long in our house.
Did you have pets in the household when you were a child?
We did. There was that ill fated hamster but after that we had a series of Siamese cats. Those were some interesting animals.
Do/did you find pets therapeutic?
I do. They can feel like a lot of work when life is stressful but when they curl up next to you and ask for loves? Instantly lowers the blood pressure. I’m convinced cat purrs resonate on a cellular level.
How old were you when you had your first pet, or have you never had one?
Oh no, here comes the spotty memory. I don’t really remember how old I was when that hamster took a chunk out of my finger…I feel like I was younger than eight.
Gratitude:
Freshly washed hair, our girl’s visit home for spring break, a good Spotify playlist for cooking, and it’s almost the start of hummingbird migration season.

Apparently as a kid I had a 3 legged Tortoise, how can I not remember that pet…

I love them so much. We didn’t get very many in the fall, I’m hoping they’ll find us again on their spring migration. 🙂
