Do you prefer iced tea or iced coffee?
I prefer iced tea. Iced coffee was a hard no for me until I caved and tried one last summer. Coffee always psychologically equaled heat so I was pleasantly surprised by the taste. I went through a period where I made one every day but so far this summer I’m still drinking the hot stuff. We’re just hitting the upper 80s, though; I imagine once we’re routinely in the 90s I’ll give it another go.
Do you like your cold drinks with ice, or just chilled?
I like my drinks with ice. I can drink them chilled but don’t finish them fast enough and I really dislike lukewarm drinks.
Do you prefer an ice cream (cornetto or similar) or ice lolly (popsicle)?
I prefer ice cream. A lot. So much so I kind of forget that popsicles can be good.
What is your favourite cold dessert?
The words favourite and dessert are a hard combo for me. Milkshakes are delightful, as are sundaes and parfaits. Back in my gluten days I sure loved an ice cream cake, and cheesecake is always delicious.
Not my favorite but a top notch honorable mention comes from JP’s Pastry. They make an extraordinary gluten free oatmeal cream pie that’s just as good frozen.
Gratitude:
Cool rain, soft fur babies, the smell of popcorn, occasionally decent sleep, and really good friends.

Iced coffee every time for me, iced tea always tastes like something I have to drink because it’s good for me rather than want to.

Ooh no. Coffee every time for me. The more like an over-sweetened milk shake the better.

I agree with the sweetness either way! The husband keeps telling me I should learn to drink it black but drinking straight hot bean water? {shudder}

Many moons ago when I was a waitress, iced coffee was prepared by filling a water glass with ice, adding a metal teaspoon then filling it with hot brewed coffee from the ‘hot plate’…ick. Never liked it then, nor now. That clouded all consequent incarnations of it for me! HA! But unsweet-iced tea (fresh brewed of course) with mint & lemon is great.

Oh man…our jobs wreck havoc on our personal lives for sure. And mint? I’ve never tried that!

Daughter loves cold brew coffee. I like mine hot no matter the temperature. (Kinda like eating chili when it’s 106 degrees.) I’m with you on the ice cream. Can never get enough. Come to think of it I haven’t had a milkshake in years. Here come the craves again.

Got a milkshake last night. We’ll have those in the dead of winter so I can get on board with that. Chili somehow sticks as a fall-early spring meal. I definitely make less chili/soup in the hot months.

Chili is a food group in Texas, so no matter the heat, out it comes.

Thanks for joining in and sharing your world Laura.
I like my tea and coffee hot, though Hubby can drink either as engineer’s tea, ie. lukewarm or worse, cold!!!

Engineer’s tea😂 My father was in the Navy (engineer) and the way he was unconcerned with lukewarm coffee was mindboggling to me. My father-in-law can drink from a pot that just sits out all day long. It’s wild!

I’ve come to enjoy iced coffee in the hottest part of the summer, but usually I prefer iced tea. But only if it is unsweetened. And on ice.

Unsweetened? 😳 I live in the south and get strange looks if I even request half sweet/half unsweet. Down here if it’s not hummingbird sweet then it’s not sweet tea and that’s the default. 🤣

I know, I know… I just don’t like sweet drinks. 🤷♀️

You’re healthier for it. I wish I loved unsweet tea, I’d be much more willing to order it that way. It’s hard to drink calories packed into sweet tea. It’s also hard to forget I’m wrecking havoc on my teeth. 🤣

iced tea, but coffee must be very hot for me

Me too! I’ll add my sugar and creamer then *microwave it* so it’s hot again. 🤣🤣 My husband thinks I’m nuts!!

I agree that hot drinks should be hot and cold should be cold – no lukewarm, ever! I’ve not had iced coffee, but tried coffee ice cream once and it was pretty good actually. 🙂

Lukewarm gets me every time. I was flabbergasted when my husband asked friends over for dinner if they wanted ice in their water AND THEY SAID NO. It had honestly never occured to me to ask. 😂🤣
