What colour was your school uniform (if you had one)?
I didn’t have a school uniform. I did teach in a Catholic school for a few years — girls sported the traditional navy/green plaid jumpers unless they were in the khaki pants/polo combination. It was interesting to see kids experiencing school in a uniform.
When working, did you have to wear a uniform or dress colour code?
I wore a uniform for about half of my teenage jobs — ice cream shops, movie theatre, that sort of thing. Otherwise I worked jobs that let me wear what I wanted. In my grownup life there’s only been one job that had a dress code, per se. It was the mid-90s and I was a receptionist at a traditional Midwestern private equity firm. Women were required to wear skirts, pantyhose (yes, I know), and heels. I needed a job, it was a good paycheck, but I still can’t believe I cosplayed executive Barbie.
What is your favourite colour to wear?
This is very mood dependent for me. I own a fair amount of charcoal gray clothing — it’s a neutral dark without being as severe as black. After that I like navy blue and plum.
What colour would you never wear unless there was no alternative?
Emotionally I adore yellow but I’ve been told it makes me look like I’m about to puke. Certains shades of tan are also a major no — some of them match too close to my skin tone in a very unflattering way.

I dislike any shade that resembles a bodily fluid. Puke green, mustard yellow (though in general I never wear yellow or orange).
I wear a mix of colours and patterns, but would say I tend toward jewel tones, with a lot of blue jeans and black rounding out the mix.

Amen to that! My father-in-law introduced me to the phrase cat shit brown — had never heard it before but once I did I absolutely knew what color he meant. 🤣 Jewel tones look best on me too (color-wise). Thanks for joining in!

haha executive Barbie – so funny, but now you mention it! 🙂 and you really have seen a groundhog? I don’t think we have those here. We have prairie dogs, though. 🙂

They’re adorable. The hubby says they’re like a cuter squirrel. We had one a couple of years ago that was *enormous* — I called him Fat Albert and he made me laugh so hard when he wobbled across the yard.
We back up to a wooded area so I can look out the kitchen window and spot deer, groundhogs, a fox, and cats along with the birds and squirrels we always have. I think I’d love to see a prairie dog!
