Have you ever been fishing?
‘m certain to a serious fisherman (person?) I’ve never done what they call fishing but my hobby level brain has experienced enough to know it’s not for me. At the risk of sounding a little loopy I cannot disconnect enough from the fish’s experience to consider it a zen activity. and since I don’t fish for a food source the whole thing just feels cruel.
What do you consider to be the bravest thing you’ve ever done?
Today the answer to this question is the times I’ve stopped pretending and looked someone in the eye to say I’m struggling, I need help.
Would you rather curl up with a good book in front of an open fire, or settle down with a tub of popcorn and watch a good movie with a friend?
Both of these things are true. In my later years I’ve developed some truly precious friendships and time spent with those people is such a gift. That said, there are also times when I just want to curl up on my own.
Have you ever owned tropical fish?
Good heavens, no. There’s no world in which I’d tackle caring for a tropical fish tank.
Gratitude:
Another chance at seeing snow flurries today — they just showed up! — several recent deer sightings through the backyard, and wonderful time with friends over the weekend.

It is. I appreciate that I’m old enough to understand asking for help is the brave part. Younger me thought being brave was pushing through, stuffing down everything else and ignoring needs to the point of collapse, just so I was “being strong.”
