Welcome back to Dan’s photo challenge. He’s beginning a series inspired by a suggestion for inventions and gizmos. This week’s theme is Inventions. Dan’s notes add:
“Inventions – Things are invented and then modified and sometimes reinvented. Either works here. Inventions can also be fictional. They can be created by or for characters, for purposes someone can imagine.”
You can check out Dan’s weekly photos at the prompt post here.
Now let’s see what we can do with inventions.
The cat tree was a fabulous invention. Last year I spotted a giant llama version I’d imagine was designed for zoomy kittens who’d love to sprint up its neck. Please clap for the incredible restraint shown in not bringing an enormous llama home…
We get compliments from the vet techs every time we go in with this cat carrier. I love that it’s soft sided but the real win is that you can unzip the top and open it like a clam shell. Perfect for kitties who refuse to come out of their safe spot.
Mia was our only kitty who loved sitting with the modem. It cracked me up that she seemed to feel hidden back there.

our cat refuses to have anything to do with things like cat trees. Just give him the the top of the boiler and the dogs food.

Well sure, because what cat doesn’t want the dogs food. 😂🤣

I travel too much to have a pet at the present, but growing up there were always a cat or two in residence. They do love to climb and hide. The carrier is so cute. Clever choices for inventions, Laura!

Thank you! The cats always do better when they have spaces to climb. I think our boy cat would be overjoyed if we had one of those walls with climbing platforms…

When we had an indoor cat, the cat tree and carrier both were very valuable.

Absolutely. Our boy cat loves to launch on and off the tree’s platform as he zooms around the room. It also gives him a safe place to nap or watch the birds. Very useful!

It was such a surprise when the boy cat could find her up there. Shocking! 🤣

Mia might have been one credit card number away from placing a big order with Chewy.
I made cat trees for our cats. They loved them, and the higher the better.
Great take on the prompt!

Thanks, Dan. Mia was a sweet but somewhat sneaky girl…a secret Chewy account wouldn’t have been past her. 😂

You had a fun idea for inventions for the kitties! Yes, the cat tree was always a favorite for ours, and that cat carrier is great. Now the trick is to get them to go into it? 🙂

Bless it all, I have two cats who are ENTIRELY unhelpful when it comes to getting into the carrier. Boy cat fights like I’m trying to kill him, girl cat won’t let me pick her up so I have to maneuver her until she darts in herself out of desperation. 🙄

haha yes! I know how it is. Once we had to dismantle a whole bed to get to one of ours she was so far under there. 🙂
