“Her colors are pink and pink!”
“My colors are blush and bashful, mama.”
If you have even an ounce of southern in you this phrase came out with the deepest drawl. Is there anyone out here who hasn’t bawled their way through Steel Magnolias?
Okay, to be fair I doubt everyone has watched this multigenerational movie about the love and relationships among six women. The genre isn’t everyone’s cup of tea but for those who partake I’ve yet to meet a Steel Magnolias fan who doesn’t admit sobbing their way through a box of tissues for poor Shelby.
If pink is your signature color — or even if it’s not — we’re gonna highly recommend this particular flick if you feel like an emotional purge would help.
Just make sure you’ve got the tissues ready. A cuddly fur baby isn’t a terrible idea either. And maybe some ice cream for good measure.
Linda hosts Stream of Consciousness Saturday. This week’s prompt is “blush.” Use as a noun, use it as a verb, use it any way you’d like. Enjoy!

Fantastic use of the prompt word Laura 🙌

I love that movie, reminds me I need to watch it again, with tissues close by.

The tissues part is important, for sure.

I watched Steel Magnolias once all the way through. Now, I might watch parts, but not the sad parts.

The sad parts are SO sad. This movie got harder for me once I had kids.😭

I love this line from Steel Magnolias. And I just so happen to be in the need for an emotional purge today. Time to rewatch a favorite. It’s right up there with Terms of Endearment. “Give my daughter her medicine!!”

That’s the one! Mamas raging for their babies. It’s been an emotionally charged week here, maybe I just need a good cry and some popcorn.
