Do you like having your photograph taken?

Nope-ity nope nope nope. It’s a very good thing I didn’t grow up in the age of social media. I’m uncomfortable when photos are being taken and I almost always hate them when I see them.

Did you have a school photograph taken every year?

I did and it was as miserable as it could be — time pressure, all the classmates watching, and photographers trained to point and shoot with no incentive to connect with the individual made for a bad set up. One of the icky parts of being a teacher was that I had to take them as an adult too.

Do you take photographs using a phone or stand alone camera?

I’ve done it both ways. Now that my phone’s camera is pretty good I’m less inclined to carry my Canon around.

Are you any good at taking photographs?

I think I am. I’m not professional level but I feel like I have an eye for framing a shot.
