Hey guys, I’m back! Thanks for hanging in while I took some time off. Let’s do a Share Your World.

How would you describe your laughter? (giggly, deep, infectious? etc )

It’s probably somewhere in the snort/giggle range. Maybe? Unless “slight snort followed by brief bark of laughter or short outburst of giggles” is a thing. Are other people finding it easy to describe their own laughter?

What makes you smile?

Hugs with the people I love, people snuggling their fur babies, Seven’s sweet drive bys when he bumps into my legs and asks to scrub his face against my hand, when quirky Mittens parks next to me and sometimes curls up on my lap.

Have you ever cried with laughter, and if so, can you remember the circumstances?

Okay, so, funny story. This actually happened just last month when I had my family over for Christmas but it was for a wildly inappropriate reason. You know how conversations go when there’s 8-10 people in a room — different topics at the same time, sometimes there’s a bounce around effect…someone was talking about the show “From The Source” on HBO Max (I think) and an episode that focused on how mass production has affected the taste and quality of apples. Someone commented on how population drives the need for that and something clicked in my (admittedly altered) brain.

It was right after Trump announced The Patriot Games for fall of 2026. I burst out laughing — again, wildly inappropriate — then got stuck in a loop of don’t bring up Trump and those Hunger Games will pare down the population and DON’T BRING UP TRUMP. Finally I devolved into the central focus of the room, laughing while tears poured down my face, imploring somebody to take the reins and when no one stepped up I finally choked out “I can’t stop thinking about the Hunger Games.” It was on from there.

End result: We did indeed talk about Trump at our Christmas gathering. It was indeed my own fault. Bless it.

Have you ever laughed at an inopportune moment?

See the above answer. But also I have a tendency to laugh at unfortunate moments; there are too many to recall here.

Gratitude:

A long shower with all my own things, having food readily available that is safe for me to eat, and sleeping in my own bed after a long stretch away.
