John Holton is our host for Writer’s Workshop. Here are this week’s prompts:
- Write a post inspired by the word theory.
- Write a post in exactly sixteen (16) sentences.
- Write a story where a unique vessel takes you somewhere you’ve never before been.
- What do you wish you had more talent doing?
- When you’re by yourself, what do you usually think about?
- What was the last dream you can remember about?
Oh, I have so many answers to this one.
I’d love to be more talented at drawing. It would be wonderful to sit down with a sketchbook and let creativity flow. Unfortunately my drawing talents are rudimentary at best so when I’ve tried it never ends up being, well, good. Ahem.
I wish I was more talented at directions. I don’t even mean GPS-like skills with navigation; it would just be nice to come out of a building and instinctively turn in the correct direction.
I also wish I had a better grasp on time. I know people who always have a general sense of what time it is or how long they have until lunch or how many minutes that thing has been in the oven…I don’t have that skill set. Timers and alarms can do a lot but it sure would be a big help to have that internal clock.
Speaking a foreign language, cake decorating, warding off pesky germs, and overall hand/eye coordination would all be areas that could use more talent in my life.

It does anuse my family

Even I have very poor sense of direction.

I’ve always been this way. I think it might amuse my family. 🤣

All good things to improve upon. My sense of direction and grasp of time are both terrible. 🫣

Many of us lack these skills.

I really admire the people who have them.

Good areas to get better at…

Absolutely. I should log back into Babbel and see what sort of progress I can make on a second language…

I would echo you on each and every one of those – especially the drawing skills and direction awareness. I think the only time I had any sense of direction was when my daughter and I were touring Seoul, South Korea. Can’t even begin to explain that one.

Well, if ever a miracle sense of direction was going to appear when you’re in a foreign country with your child is a pretty good time for it!

good ones, I’d love to be a good singer, dancer, and artist. all just personally, not professionally

Oh, I agree with the dancer one too. Even if only so I feel less horrified when I have to dance publicly. 🤣
