Oh my, favorite place feels so high stakes. How am I supposed to choose a single place that’s my favorite?
Maybe I’m overthinking this. No, I’m definitely overthinking it. Nobody here is waiting with bated breath for this do-or-die announcement from me. Get a grip, Laura.
Honestly? I’d say my favorite place is sitting with girl kitty beside me. (Sorry, people, I should have said discounting the time I spend with BrightSide…this for sure makes it sound like I like the cat more. 😂) We’re usually in the recliner, sometimes we’re on the couch, but she’ll plop her pudgy self by my right leg and snuggle up. Sometimes she’ll climb onto my lap and curl up but that’s a once in a while thing.
Amendment #2: this also makes it sound like I like girl kitty better than boy kitty which isn’t true. He’ll come curl up on me, usually late at night, which is a special treat. It’s just that Mittens spends time with me every day while Seven picks and chooses his days at his own discretion.
Anyway, sitting with Mittens beside/on me is my favorite place because it settles me. It’s hard to be agitated with a warm, snuggly cat breathing with you and we can all use some settling these days.
Linda hosts Stream of Consciousness Saturday. This week’s prompt is “favorite place.” Use it any way you’d like. Enjoy!

Nothing better than a warm cat body in close contact with my human body – there’s a reassurance that good stuff still happens in life, despite the outside chaos.

Having a purring cat touching our bodies is good medicine… so relaxing.

Very true. Almost feels like healing on a cellular level.

I agree with you that it’s so calming to have a warm furry purry sitting by/on you. 🙂

My cat growing up used to curl up with my mom. I didn’t understand how peaceful that was.
