John Holton is our host for Writer’s Workshop. Here are this week’s prompts:
- Write a post inspired by the word forget.
- Write a post in exactly 9 sentences.
- Do you have any special plans for April?
- Make a list of your favorite musical artists (bands or individual). What makes them so good?
- Tell us a funny pet (or animal, or kid) story.
- Scott Adams observed “We live in a world where all data is wrong.” Discuss.
Forget me not? Or forget me knots. Let’s tie up those things to toss and kick them to the curb for good.
No more waking up at 2am remembering the embarrassing thing I did at that dinner a year ago. NO MORE, I SAY. It’s done, it’s over, nobody gives a damn but me. Probably. But whatever!
Sent that email to the wrong person? Okay, fair enough, that was morifying. A little bit like saying “love you too” when you pick up the dry cleaning…it was also three months ago, let it go.
Listen, folks, I found that cathartic but it is an earworm so click play at your own risk….
The number of things taking up valuable brain real estate when I could use that memory storage for, I don’t know, ANYTHING USEFUL is irritating me down to my toes. “A stitch in time saves nine” may not be taking an exhorbitant amount of space but c’mon, it adds up.
Can we collectively agree to forget the nonsense and leave it by the curb? And by collectively I mean me, that’s absolutely a me thing. If you catch me spinning my wheels on some let-it-go ish feel free to bonk me on the noggin with some Elsa lyrics.

I was a past master at churning and burning on mistakes. Sometimes I had to get to the extreme of saying out loud, “At least no one was killed.” You can imagine how a partner reacts at 3:00AM to that profundity. I finally passed over to not caring any more and recognizing mistakes happen and the more one does in life the more mistake opportunities there are.

If forgetting these seems difficult, try to find the humor in the situation and laugh at it. 😍

Some things will have to fall under that category. My brain doesn’t seem predisposed to releasing memories altogether. 😂
